Adarve Gardens and Landscape Design is distinguished by its extensive experience working alongside developers on the Costa del Sol, delivering landscape solutions that enhance the value of every property. This project is a clear example of how a comprehensive renovation can completely transform a residence, elevating it to a higher category and facilitating a faster and more successful sale.
Villa Lugano stands out for its clearly defined central axis, which becomes the hallmark of the project.
At the entrance, the property’s strong architectural symmetry was emphasized through the creation of four metal planters framing four centenary olive trees, endowing the access with a solemn and timeless character. As a welcoming gesture, a series of water
features was incorporated, compelling visitors to cross through water so that the arrival experience is centered on this sensory journey rather than on the direct view of the home’s large windows on either side.
The guiding thread of the project is a gray mulch covering all planting surfaces, providing cleanliness and contrast against the vegetation. Complementing this, a second unifying element is the use of white flowering plants, present throughout the garden as a symbol of unity, elegance, and visual continuity. Repeated use of Buxus balls, Pittosporum nana, Teucrium fruticans, and ornamental grasses such as Miscanthus or Stipa adds rhythm and movement.
The main axis runs through the residence from end to end, directing the gaze toward the far side of the pool, where a white stone backdrop wall was designed. This wall serves as a support for the sun loungers, reinforcing perspective and creating a defined visual closure.
Conceived as a true boutique garden, the project unfolds in distinct outdoor “rooms,” each with a clearly defined purpose. Near the barbecue and outdoor kitchen, a citrus orchard was designed, underplanted with culinary and aromatic herbs, adding a fresh, Mediterranean, and functional character. In the southern area, the garden was segmented into different spaces linked to the master bedroom and its bathroom, creating private corners for contemplation and relaxation.
In short, Villa Lugano is defined by a clean and sober design, with a refined interplay of light and dark greens, the use of water as a dynamic element providing sound and movement, and a plant palette dominated by white blooms, conferring coherence and elegance to the whole ensemble.
