This garden in La Zagaleta was conceived to harmonize the villa’s striking modern Mediterranean architecture with the beauty of its natural surroundings — ancient holm oaks, cork oaks, rockroses, and rosemary.
The design unfolds across two distinct yet seamlessly connected levels, where structure, elegance, and nature coexist in perfect balance.
On the upper level, a majestic landscaped roundabout welcomes visitors to the main entrance. Boxwood spheres, verbenas, standard laurels, and cypresses frame the space with poise and harmony. An outdoor dining area extends toward the horizon, accompanied by a charming garden of culinary and aromatic plants. From here, the pool terrace opens to breathtaking views of the sea and mountains, where mature olive trees, metrosideros hedges, and Italian jasmines evoke a serene, distinctly Mediterranean atmosphere.
The lower level is dedicated to leisure and wellbeing. An elegant pergola with seating for 24 guests and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen invites convivial gatherings, while a yoga and fitness lawn provides space for mindful movement. This level also connects to the villa’s luxurious spa, complete with an indoor pool and sauna. Centuries-old holm oaks — remnants of the original forest — merge naturally into the design, while pathways lined with myrtles and lavenders lead to intimate corners framed by roses, gaura, verbenas, olive trees, cypresses, and flowering lagerstroemias.
A grand landscaped staircase, adorned with junipers, agapanthus, and lagerstroemias, gracefully links the two levels, culminating in a spacious celebration area. Here, lemon, orange, pomegranate, and fig trees weave a vibrant, sensorial Mediterranean ambiance.
Textures, colors, aromas, and sounds converge to transform this garden into a living experience — elegant, timeless, and profoundly Mediterranean.
